Field Trip: Napa's John F Kennedy Memorial ParkDate: Saturday September 07, 2024Time: 8:00 AMNSAS sponsors weekly birding walks, open to everyone, led by ornithologist Andrew Ford. Andrew has a wealth of information regarding birds, plants and just about anything else you might happen to come across on the weekly birding trip. Our first Weekly Walk is scheduled for Napa’s Kennedy Park on Saturday, September 7th beginning at 8:00 a.m. Kennedy Park has trees and fields that run along the Napa River. The habitat includes Estuaries, Mudflats, Marshlands, Willow and Redwood Groves. We are likely to see a variety of Herons, Egrets, and Shorebirds along the River, hear Virginia, Sora, and even Black Rails in the Marshes and observe our earliest migrating passerines in the Willow thickets and along the Oak and Redwood lined pathways.
