Date: Friday April 19, 2019

Time: 7:30 AM

NSAS Members Only. Limited to 17 participants. Join us on this field trip to Milliken Reservoir, from 7:30am to 12:30pm. (NSAS Event)

Leader: Wendy Cole

Description: Situated below Atlas Peak, Milliken reservoir is a remote source of Napa city water. We will take a circuitous route to reach the lake, passing through blue oak woodland, the old Camp Milliken, a little Douglas Fir forest, and skirt the canyon below the dam. The gravel road loop from Atlas Peak Rd to the lake and back is about 2.2 miles with a few modest grades. Wildflowers should be blooming as well.

This area is not open to the public, but the city of Napa water department has granted us half-day access to the property.

Bring binoculars, hiking poles if you have them, water and snacks.

Directions: All participants must meet at the Silverado Plaza Shopping Center at Trancas and Soscol in Napa, east of Chase bank at 7:30, to carpool to Milliken.

Coordinator: RSVP by April 12, 2019 to Wendy Cole,

A reminder from the Field Trip Coordinator: Car-poolers will share driving expenses (recommended $.40/mi to be split by the number of riders).
