Field Trip: Beginning Bird Walk at American Canyon Wetlands

Walks and workshops aimed at Beginning Birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9 a.m., followed by a bird walk from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Today's walk is at American Canyon Wetlands. (NSAS Event)

Description: This is a family-friendly beginning bird walk at American Canyon Wetlands where you will see many species of birds, including Western Bluebirds, Anna’s Hummingbirds, Black Phoebes, and many species of sparrows, hawks, blackbirds, finches, and shorebirds. The trail is flat and mostly smooth and good for all abilities.

Directions: Meet at the American Canyon Wetlands parking lot. From Napa, take Hwy 29 South and turn right on Rio Del Mar and then an immediate right onto Eucalyptus Drive. Drive 1.3 miles until you reach the parking lot at the end of Eucalyptus Drive and Wetlands Edge Road. If coming north on Hwy 29, turn left on Rio Del Mar and then make an immediate right onto Eucalyptus Drive and follow it to the end. The parking lot will be at the end of Eucalyptus Drive. Parking is free. Picnic tables, bathroom, and drinking water also available.
