Leader: Crystal DeMarco

Description: Join us for a Hummingbird Conservation and Climate Change workshop, where we will learn about the hardships being faced by Climate Endangered Allen’s Hummingbirds due to climate change, and what proactive conservation measures we can all take to help hummingbirds in our region. Also, learn how to identify Anna’s, Allen’s, and Rufous Hummingbirds, and about their fascinating courtship displays.

Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). A restroom is available near the parking lot. Please dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and binoculars if you have them. Steady rain may cancel, please e-mail the walk coordinator if there are any questions.

Directions: From Fairfield, take the I-80 East towards Sacramento. Drive approximately 8 miles, exit on Pena Adobe Road. Take Pena Adobe Rd. into Lagoon Valley Park. There is a $5 parking fee, and the kiosk accepts cards. After the parking pass kiosk, continue driving southeast towards the large parking lot on the right, and we will meet near the restrooms across from the main parking lot.
