Description: Barn Owls are part of our popular culture, ancient mythology, and are just plain amazing. Join Napa-Solano Audubon for a workshop on Barn Owls. We’ll discuss their physical adaptations, and also their breeding habits and their role as an apex predator. The old barn at Rush Ranch has also been home to nesting Barn Owls this year, and we’ll learn about Barn Owl nestboxes, choosing suitable locations, and how you can obtain one.

The workshop will last from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a walk through the ranch, with views of the surrounding marshlands. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots and bring water and binoculars if you have them. Layers and insect repellent are recommended.

This walk is in coordination with the Solano Land Trust. Their monthly “Get the Rush,” event is held at the same time. For more information about Get the Rush please use this link. http://rushranch.net/activities-and-events.php
