Leader: Kurt Niznik

Description: Kurt Niznik’s specialty is raptors, so this trip will focus on raptors. But we will also look for Burrowing Owls, Great Horned Owls, and Barn Owls and then move on to the marsh to find rails. Before leaving Rush Ranch we will look for ducks and tricolored blackbirds. We will continue on to Grizzly Island for raptors, ducks, shorebirds, geese, possible bittern, and loggerhead shrike.

Bring lunch and water, binoculars and spotting scope.

This trip is limited to 15 participants. Please RSVP to Wendy Cole at beehaven2@comcast.net by February 17.

Directions: 3521 Grizzly Island Road, off Hwy 12. From I-80 take Hwy 12 East toward Rio Vista, approximately 3 miles to intersection with Grizzly Island Road. Turn right on Grizzly Island Road and entrance to Rush Ranch is approximately 2 miles on the right.
