Walks and workshops aimed at Beginning Birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9am, followed by bird walks at 9:30am until noon. (NSAS Event)
Leader: Alex Greene
Description: Why do birds sing? How can you tell birds apart by their songs? You will learn to ID five different birds from their song alone, and discuss apps for your smartphone that can help you learn more songs and identify birds in your yard and in the field.
The workshop will last from 9:00 to 9:30, followed by a walk through Lagoon Valley/Pena Adobe Regional Park. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please bring binoculars if you have them and water.
Directions: Meet in the Pena Adobe parking lot. Take Hwy 80 north to Vacaville. Take the Pena Adobe exit and drive to east to the Pena Adobe parking lot.
