Field Trip: American Canyon WetlandsDate: Friday November 21, 2014Time: 8:00 AMWeekly Friday trip (NSAS Event) Details:Leader: Murray Berner Description: American Canyon Wetlands is changing over to winter, with birds of special interest on the Napa River - Surf Scoter, Common Loon, Barrow's Goldeneye and Red-breasted Merganser among the recently seen - the usual scads of waders large and small, sparrows, warblers, rails, and a really cool Hammond's Flycatcher along the eucalyptus edge. Napa carpool leaves from the east side of Sweeney's sport shop in Riverpark shopping center at 8:00 am. The wetlands parking lot is at the corner of Wetlands Edge Rd and Eucalyptus Dr at the northwestern edge of American Canyon. Napa carpool will be there just after 8:30. Level walk under 2 miles. NOTE: Our new book the Breeding Birds of Solano County will be available for purchase beginning at 7:40 am at Riverpark.
