Field Trip: Moore Creek ParkDate: Friday September 05, 2014Time: 8:00 AMWeekly Friday trip (NSAS Event) Details:Leader: Murray Berner Description: This week takes us on a hike through Moore Creek Park. Canyon mixed forests, shady streams. Pygmy owl and Pileated Woodpecker are resident. Fall migrant songbirds will be seen. This is a three mile round trip on old dirt roads. There are several streams crossings over stones at the top end. While these crossings are mostly dry and aren't overly challenging, be aware. There is 300 feet elev. gain over 1.5 miles. Back to the cars before noon. Napa carpool leaves from the east side of Sweeney's sport shop in Riverpark shopping center at 8:00 am. On your own, Moore Creek Park is at 2602 Chiles-Pope Valley Road, 1.4 miles north of Hwy 128. Napa carpool will arrive after 8:30. Read more about these trips on the Friday Bird Walks page. |
