Redbud Audubon’s popular annual Heron Days still has tickets available for the April 27-28 and May 4-5 birding tours. Tours are offered every half-hour between 8:00 - 11:00 am. - Not an NSAS Event
Redbud Audubon in Clear Lake is presenting it's 24th annual Heron Days! It is the chapter's only fundraiser each year to support its education and conservation activities.
The April tours leave from Lakeside County Park in Kelseyville to follow along the nearby shoreline. May tours leave from Clear Lake Campground on Cache Creek and go into Anderson Marsh. All tours have an expert Audubon guide on board.
Tours are offered every half-hour between 8:00-11:00 am. The 90-minute tour costs $30.
Tour guests view mixed rookeries of herons, egrets, and cormorants and often see mating Western and Clark’s Grebes’ courtship displays of “rushing” in synchronized pairs on the surface of the lake.
