Details: Walks and workshops aimed at Beginning Birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9 a.m., followed by bird walks from 9:30 a.m. until noon. (NSAS Event)

Description:

What are Neotropical Migrants? What migration characteristics make these particular birds unique, and what risks are they facing? Join us for a workshop to discuss what steps we can all take to help these amazing birds, and how Citizen Scientists play an important role in tracking their populations.

The workshop will last from 9:00 to 9:30, followed by a walk through American Canyon Wetlands Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots and bring water and binoculars if you have them. The wetlands can be cloudy and windy in the morning, so layers are recommended.

Directions: Meet at the American Canyon Wetlands parking lot. 2 Eucalyptus Dr, American Canyon, CA 94503. From Hwy. 29 northbound, make a left onto Eucalyptus Drive, and drive 1.4 miles towards the bay. The parking lot will be at the end of Eucalyptus Drive. Parking is free. Picnic tables, bathroom, and drinking water also available.
