Event: Birding in the Land of the Rising Sun, Volunteer Party and Elections

Date: Tuesday May 08, 2018

Time: 7:00 PM

Our monthly programs will break for the summer with the election of our Board of Directors and a celebration of our extraordinary volunteers. We'll have hors d'oeuvres, desserts (cake!), wine, and sparkling drinks.

Then our own Vice President, Dr. John Glover, who is retiring both from his teaching position at Touro University and from our Board of Directors, will present a program on the birds and snow monkeys of Japan. Birding in the Winter is very different from the Spring, and it brings with it observations unique to the season. We will look at massive gatherings of cranes, huge sea eagles, fishing owls and a variety of tits and other birds in the forests, marshes and the ocean across Japan. Along the way we will talk a little about Japanese culture and see a few mammals.

So join us for our election, celebration of our volunteers and to be entertained by John before he leaves us for the next chapter in his life. (NSAS Event)
