Details:

The Northern Saw-Whet Owl banding project began in 2005 in Chico, CA, and continues today through twelve seasons. Biologist Julie Woodruff will talk about banding and migration trends, diet, habitat, and stopover length.

Ms. Woodruff is a local Biologist who specializes in birds and amphibian surveys. She received both her undergraduate and Master’s degree from California State University, Chico. Her Master’s Thesis titled “Winter Ecology of the Northern Saw-Whet Owl in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of California” was in collaboration with the Altacal Audubon club’s saw-whet owl banding station near Chico and included extensive radio-telemetry of 22 owls.
