Event: 3 Day Bird Identification Workshop January 12-14Date: Thursday January 12, 2012Special opportunity to hone your birding skills with a master: John Sterling! Two evening lectures on the 12th and 13th followed by a field trip all day on Saturday the 14th. (NSAS Event) Details:Thursday and Friday lectures will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the USGS Field Station on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. Click here for directions. Are you ready to take your birding skills to the next level? John will lecture on tough bird identification issues on Thursday and Friday evenings using his photographs to illustrate field marks. On Saturday he will lead a full day field trip to the northern Bay Area where participants will practice what they've learned from the lectures. Topics will include female ducks, winter shorebirds, sparrows, raptors, finches and other wintering species. The cost is $90. This is a reduced rate. Attendance is open to Napa Solano Audubon members and our neighboring Audubon Society friends. John will also donate $40 per student to the Napa Solano Audubon Chapter. John is one of the top birders in the western United States. He teaches birding workshops and leads international tours.
